Salem
Gothic punk from Southampton
Salem could be considered a cross-generational UK punk supergroup - one part from the undeniable masters of the Gothic/Emo influenced new wave of horror punk Creeper (vocalist Will Gould) and one part from one of the greatest lights of the early 00s underground Punk/Ska UK scene, Howards Alias (guitarist Matt Reynolds). My love for that early 00s scene has no place in this bio (although I could talk - at length - about it!)

Send More Paramedics
Undead thrashers from Leeds
Send More Paramedics are impossible to categorise. Originally starting as a side project of post-hardcore band And None of Them Knew They Were Robots they soon developed an almost cult following - they were very much the otherworldly, comic-book type band of the mid 00s UK punk scene, much like the Misfits were to 80s American Hardcore. Only - they weren't really punk at all (much like the Misfits weren't really hardcore... to begin with), their crossover thrash had more in common with SSS, Gama Bomb and Municipal Waste than it did with the ska-heavy punk scene. But, nevertheless, I knew kids who swore by 'skacore', who would gag at the mention of anything metal, but who would greedily consume anything SMP put out. At the same time the zombie makeup, masks, buckets of blood and an impeccable stance of saying in character as their undead personas made them much closer to horror punk aesthetics.

TORSO
Grindhouse sludge horror punk metal
I do like to throw an oddball onto this site at times. The heavy, sludge metal of TORSO is not exactly what you'd call traditional horror punk.
