13 Tombs
Horror punk from Scotland
Scotland is not a country lacking in horror punk bands and 13 Tombs (formerly known as The Superevils) are a great example of that. Self-described as deathrock, this is down and dirty garage punk n'roll with influences from first wave punk rock, 80s goth rock and the sort of proto-punk that we should all be listening to more of. With a string of releases (under both new and old band names) and some standout tracks (the half-minute perfection of 'Creepy Doll' and the eminently danceable verve of 'I Drink Your Blood') this is a band that may not have a huge amount of UK-wide or international recognition, but definitely deserve it!

Acid Cauldron
Horror punk from Kent
Hailing from the haunted South East of England, Kent's Acid Cauldron conjure up a mix of supernatural horror punk with a metal influence and have no qualms in introducing some altogether different sounds into their repertoire. Their first EP 'Haunted House' is a slice of hard-hitting, horror-obsessed and atmospheric thrashy, spooky hardcore horror punk. Whilst they've flown a little under the radar so far this is a band who are very much part of the latest wave of UK horror punk.

Al B. Damned
Post-Texas Drag Queen Massacre shock rock horror punk metal from Bournemouth
After the demise of former band The Texas Drag Queen Massacre, frontman Al B. Damned would form a self-named project as a successor. Whilst retaining much of what made TDQM so good (glammed up horror metal-punk fusion) this was a chance to refocus, mature and polish up the style whilst still retaining all of the sleaze, swagger and horror-fueled, blood soaked lyrics that came before. Like TDQM, Al B. Damned was adored by fans but failed to make the wider impression that they deserved too. Al would go on to front the more hard rock sounding, but still horror influenced, South of Salem.

All Your Nightmares
Horror punk from Edinburgh, Scotland
Scottish horror punkers All Your Nightmares show their influences clearly on their releases - melodic horror punk in the best traditions of the genre, singalong choruses, bittersweet stories of dead love and all the staples of the horror genre. Their debut EP was raw but showed signs of promise, whilst the full length 'Horror Stories' left no one in doubt about what the band were going after. Now seemingly defunct, sadly, All Your Nightmares is another band that may have flown under many radars but deserve some attention.

Standout Tracks
'Loretta' and 'Alone In The Darkness'
Band members

Army of Walking Corpses
Horror punk from Nottingham
Nottingham's Army of Walking Corpses were one of the leading lights of the UK horror punk scene until their untimely demise (although, as we know, the dead always come back). A split with German genre legends The Crimson Ghosts and a couple of great EPs will live on as their legacy - a bruising, metal-edged, horror-filled band that deserved to have wider recognition.
